Our Story
There is a particular kind of hospitality that cannot be built from a template. It grows slowly, from a deep familiarity with a place, its streets, its people, its history. That is what Casonas MX is.
A small collection of private residences within Campeche's UNESCO-listed walled city. Each one restored with the understanding that a house with centuries of history deserves more than renovation, it deserves interpretation.
Not a hotel. Something closer to a home, cared for by a small team that knows every property by its particularities, every guest by name. People with genuine knowledge of Campeche, its hidden corners, its makers, its rhythms, available to those who want to inhabit the city, not just visit it.
This is not accommodation. It is an invitation to be in a place that reveals itself only to those who slow down.
Irma carries Campeche in the deepest sense, its streets, its people, its particular way of moving through the day. Sebastien arrived from France, fell in love with the city and with her, and chose never to leave. Together, they built a life rooted in this place and, in time, a way of sharing it.
What drives them has never been the hospitality industry. It is the city itself, its stories, the way time moves differently here. The houses came later, as a natural expression of something they had always done: welcoming people in, making them feel at home, showing them Campeche not as tourists see it, but as those who truly belong to it.
This is what Casonas MX is built on, not a concept, but a conviction. That hospitality, at its best, is simply the art of making someone feel that they belong.
